We define trash as waste that needs to be sorted (organic or not) before being disposed of in landfills. Hardly craftable. Example: Kitchen waste or inappropriate waste.

Shorting trash

Trash is type of waste that can hardly be crafted is generally in the form of small pieces. However, to manage this trash, we first sort the trash according to its type before being dumped into the TPA.

We can process E-Waste, Plastic, Metal, Glass, Paper waste into crafts. Meanwhile, organic trash, such as food trash, food-soiled paper, non-hazardous wood trash, and green trash, can be processed into compost.

Then what about non-organic trash?

We can process non-organic trash such as plastic into Eco Brick as building material.

Supplies

  • Plastic bottles,
  • Pieces of plastic trash,
  • A stick longer than the length of a plastic bottle.

Instructions

  • Save non-recyclables like pieces of plastic trash.
  • Clean the plastic bottle and dry it.
  • Use a stick to press the trash into the bottle.
  • Keep compressing with a stick until the bottle weights about 500g.
